For 20+ years, Jill Mintz-Hodyl has been sharing the gift of learning to ice skate with people of all ages.

Jill's father taught her the sport and art of moving across the ice at a young age. These special memories forged her passion for teaching others how to ice skate.

Along with her team of professional coaches, Jill hopes that the lessons students learn on the ice will serve them well, on the ice and beyond.

Our Learn to Skate program offers a 1 hour group lesson experience weekly, Monday - Saturday at Big Bear Ice Arena. These lessons are designed to accommodate various skill levels and teach you fundamental skating skills. Our goal is to share our joy and help you find a passion for figure skating, hockey or recreational fun. We love skating and want to share our passion with you! Lace'Em Up Denver!

Our academy offers advanced skating skills lessons daily at Big Bear Ice Arena. This program is designed to teach and master advanced skating skills and build confidence in our sport and for life with a unique Lace'Em Up Experience. Our goal is to share our joy and love of skating to help you find a passion for competitive figure skating, ice dance, theater on ice, synchronized skating or recreational fun. We teach skills necessary for skateboarding – balance, confidence, determination, and problem solving skills – and then help transfer those skills off the board as well as on.

We are complying with all state and local health and safety guidelines and have lifted most Covid protocols.

Memberships are back. After School Sessions, Weekend Session, and Teen Nights are no longer operating with limited numbers and "drop-ins" are again being permitted, but registering ahead is still recommended.

We offer 1-hour Private Sessions where you can invite your friends and family to join you with the Squarehouse all to yourself.
