Reflexology is the application of pressure to areas on the feet and is a relaxing way to help alleviate stress and heal the body. The theory behind reflexology is that areas of the foot correspond to organs and systems of the body. When the proper location of the foot is massaged it brings relaxation and healing to the corresponding area. Reflexology also helps to reduce pain and psychological symptoms, such as stress and anxiety, and can enhance relaxation and sleep. Given that reflexology is also low risk, it can be a excellent option if you're seeking relaxation and stress relief.

I use a variety of techniques during a massage session which includes combining modalities, like Deep Tissue with Swedish Massage, depending upon your body's needs. Deep tissue is excellent for chronic pain or sports injuries but for some people strictly using Deep Tissue can aggravate the Central Nervous System (CNS) and cause you discomfort for days afterwards. By incorporating lighter Swedish Massage, or even energy work and/or Movement Therapy into a session, I am able to relax your CNS and, in turn, relax your muscles to give you a lasting relief. I've been told many times that my style of massage is unique and which modalities I use during your massage will depend upon how your body reacts during your session.

I use Hot Stone Therapy in combination with my regular 90 minute massage session in order to give a deeper and more relaxing massage experience. The penetrating heat can reach deeper layers of fascia while it releases tension quicker than just massage on its own.

I can’t say more about Levi and his innate ability to understand the muscle system and how it’s tendencies can keep us from moving they way we should. Having some serious hip and low back tension after a Trail Race, Levi took a look at how I run. Identified a small issue and went to work. Levi worked through some very deep muscles in my hip to cause a 5 degree increase in my overall range of motion. Then Levi gave me some things I can do after my exercise to avoid that tension returning. Levi is such a wealth of knowledge that I highly recommend. The combination of massage and muscle activation/release during corrective exercises is what any average Joe to competitive athlete should experience, REGULARLY!

I have really enjoyed my experience with Levi at Denver Movement Center! He is very thorough and I appreciate how he explains his methods during orthopedic massage. He also gave me some great exercises and stretches to do to build strength where I need it. I've had back pain for such a long time and it is finally bearable thanks to Levi.
