We built a restaurant that mirrors the story of two lovebirds; Beatrice, the life-loving daughter of a French winemaking family, who relocated to California in the 1800’s to create a small vineyard. And Woodsley, the handsome and crafty son of Lumberjacks-turned-Coopers, who provided barrels for the fledgling wine producers. Upon first sight, Beatrice and Woodsley fell in love and quickly married.

Stirred by his new bride, Woodsley built a remote cabin amid the woods of the Colorado mountains. Built with skilled and loving hands, Woodsley constructed a strong abode complete with the day’s amenities and a large wine cellar between the roots of the aspens. Life was lived with appreciation amongst the forest birdsong and the snow-capped peaks -happily ever after*.

*Though it likely took at least four weeks by horse to get to their cabin, especially in a proper Colorado snow-bound winter ; )

Inspired by the restorative qualities of food, drink, and setting, Beatrice & Woodsley was created from a passion to bring the wilderness of the forest into the solitude of the city. A little poem from D.H. Lawrence informed the initial inspiration of the restaurant:

“Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into

Are awake through years with transferred touch, and go on glowing

Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.”

We have a romantic soft spot for the history, culture, and function of restaurants. Together, we contribute to their evolution as we strive to see them continue as places of personal restoration, social replenishment, and well-deserved relaxation.

On his path to becoming a seasoned hospitality professional through fine restaurants and hotels, Ryan cultivated his passions while performing as a world traveling jazz trumpeter. When not ensuring the excellence of the restaurant’s service and culinary offerings, he can be found in the mountains, biking, fishing, and serenading the black bears with his horn.

Passionate about combining functional art within overlooked places, Kevin seeks out opportunities to create personal connection, reflection, and rejuvenation in hopes of fostering community stewardship and thoughtful investment. His work is often described as evoking wonderment, romance, and belonging.

As we reopen (in very limited terms) during the ongoing pandemic, we’re committed to doing absolutely everything we possibly can to ensure the health and sanitation of our guests, staff, purveyors, and surrounding community.

We are closely monitoring the official guidance provided by both the CDC, WHO, and Denver Public Health as we cautiously reopen our beautiful little restaurant. We are vigilant in ensuring all of our staff have been fully briefed (and are constantly updated) on the ongoing situation and sanitary practices.

4worldlovers: Uchi, "house" in Japanese, is founded by James Beard Award‑winning Chef Tyson Cole. A delicate balance of elevated food and impeccable service, Uchi offers non‑traditional Japanese cuisine with signature tastings, sushi, and seasonal omakase.

4worldlovers: Fruition is open seven nights a week; Monday thru Sunday evenings. Our dining room is available for seating beginning at 5pm. Carry-out is available beginning at 5:30 pm.
