Located in the heart of downtown Denver, Civic Center Park is always bursting with life, as tourists and locals take advantage of the beautiful landscaping and vibrant atmosphere of this unique urban park. Many events, such as Cinco de Mayo, Civic Center EATS (a food truck festival Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the summer months), the Capitol Hill People's Fair, Denver PrideFest, Martin Luther King Jr. Day and A Taste of Colorado are traditionally held in Civic Center Park. Just steps away from Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park and the South Platte River, the Centennial Flower Gardens are a must-see for anyone with interest in gardening. The gardens are patterned after the Gardens of Versailles, with paths and patterned flowerbeds showcasing native species along with other flowers that grow well in Colorado's arid climate. This is a great spot for a refreshing afternoon stroll.

Commons Park can be found on the banks of the South Platte River in a spot that just happens to be the city's birthplace. It's a pleasing mix of natural and urban influences: Close to 40 percent of the park is covered by native plants, a piece of reconstructed lush "sand prairie" reminiscent of what would have existed in the area originally. Meanwhile, the promenade along Little Raven Street is a tree-lined walkway dotted with many seating areas and entries to connect the park to downtown Denver.

Beginning January 3, 2023, reservations will no longer be accepted and all tour tickets will be available from the Tour Information Window on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Tour Information Window is located on Cherokee Street between Colfax Avenue and West 14th Avenue. It opens at 7 a.m. on Monday through Thursday (excluding observed federal holidays), and will remain open until all tickets have been distributed.

Tickets are for same-day tours only; no advance tickets are available. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited to 5 per person. All visitors must be 7 years and older.

Peak season is Memorial Day through Labor Day, but the tours are very popular year round. During peak season, we recommend arriving as early as possible.

To request a group tour (must be between 15-20 visitors) or a presentation for students, download the presentation request form (PDF) and email it to DenverMintTours@usmint.treas.gov.

Tours are offered Monday through Thursday (excluding observed federal holidays) at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3:30 p.m. They last approximately 45 minutes.

Tour times and availability vary each day. There may be days that tours are not available, and tours may be canceled without prior notice. Please be aware that coin production schedules vary. Coins may not be in production during your tour.

All visitors must present a ticket to gain entry. Lost tickets cannot be replaced and are non-transferable. All visitors must be at the tour entrance located on Cherokee Street 30 minutes before their scheduled tour time. Late arrivals will not be admitted. The Mint does not provide parking, but there are meters and pay lots within a few blocks of the Mint.

Tour participants must comply with all COVID-19 requirements (including but not limited to mask wearing) in effect at the United States Mint at the time of the tour.

Tours are subject to cancellation, possibly with little or no notice, when circumstances warrant building closure or other cancellation at the United States Mint’s sole discretion. Please plan accordingly. Thank you for your understanding.

There is an extensive list of prohibited items, including all purses and bags. The Mint does NOT provide lockers or storage for any items. All visitors are subject to a security screening, including metal detection and X-ray examination of hand-carried items. The United States Mint reserves the right to deny access to anyone at any time.
